World Telecommunication and Information Society Day
I’m sure you chat online with friends, check your email, or even do your research for homework over the Internet sometimes. However, think about it for a second. Like a coin which has two sides, the Internet has good and bad in itself. It can have both a positive and a negative effect on you.
17th May of every year has been designated World Telecommunication and Information Society Day (WTISD), and the theme for this year is Protecting Children in Cyberspace. It is time for us to realise the safety of using the Internet. Click here to learn more about World Telecommunication and Information Society Day.
It is important for you to know how to use the Internet safely. For example, you should not use the Internet to spread gossip, bully, or threaten others. You should not make financial transactions online, including ordering, buying or selling items without the supervision of your parents. And you should be aware of, and stay away from, online gambling.
You should not spend too much time on the Internet and need to balance your time on it with time in the real world with real people.
The Internet holds an enormous amount of data, and much of it is not appropriate for young users, so be careful when you use it. Use the Internet wisely. Want to use Internet better, click here
Now, let’s have some fun and develop your skills at the same time. Want to play an online game to develop your Mathematics, Geography and English skills?
